I really have to be in the mood to go shopping, it’s really not one of my favorite things to do.
Maybe it’s because I worked in retail and everything starts to look the same after awhile. Maybe it’s because I don’t having lots of stuff; I like having basics. I have jeans. I have a suit. Black and white tee shirts.
The little black dress. You know, key items. And sometimes I buy something that is trendy just because I feel like I should but I don’t do that too often. I just don’t like a lot of things – I don’t like having things that I do not need or use so most of the time I go shopping when I need something, like bathing suits (NOT fun, at all) dresses for special occasions and probably winter coats.
But when I do love something, I have a horrible habit of buying it multiple times; mainly because I want to always have it. But I have a rule, if I don’t wear something in 1 year or haven’t worn it in 1 year, I give it away. I figure you don’t need something if you haven’t physically touched it in 1 year. And my other shopping rule – never buy more than you can carry. If you can’t carry it, you don’t need it.
